Next week marks the end of the second month of this year, is quickly approaching the end of the first quarter of this year.

Are you on track to meet your goals this year? How about the New Year’s Resolutions? Will this year end like you want it to or will you look back and wish you would’ve?

What’s the difference between one that’s highly successful or just getting by? What about truly happy or just going through the motions? Are you in shape and healthy or barely able to make a flight of stairs? Is there a magic answer? Are they lucky? Is there something wrong if you’re not the one? The answer is yes there is and it’s your choices and your focus! YOU’RE the difference!

When we are able to take full responsibility for everything in our life, we open the door to true possibility. We gain an access that otherwise would never exist. When we stop looking everywhere else for the answers or trying to make excuses and place blame on everyone and everything else, we automatically gain power and freedom to be, do, and have whatever we want in our lives.

I’ve had all kinds of excuses I could use and they keep coming day after day. It’s that four letter word called LIFE. We all have one and we all have our story and our baggage. What we choose to do with it and how we choose to let it impact us is what dictates our present and our future.

I’m not telling you anything you haven’t heard before and no coach, speaker, or trainer will. The principles for success are what they’ve been for centuries. The tools and means of conveying the ideas and principles have changed but the foundation is still the same. The magic key is YOU! I read a great quote by Zig Ziglar the other day, “Some say motivation doesn’t last, neither does bathing, that’s why I recommend it daily”.

We have to choose to feed our minds, bodies, and spirits the things that will fuel our engines. You can’t expect a car or a home to run properly and at the top of its capability without routine maintenance. So why would we be any different? What have you done to improve yourself, your life, and your business lately?

I wrote an article a few weeks ago called Bleachers or Court? If you read it, have you decided whether you want to be on the bleachers or on the court in life? If you didn’t read it please go back and read it. And either is fine we need cheerleaders and supporters but the fact mere fact that you’re reading this right now and searching as you are demonstrates to me that you’re the type of person who probably prefers to be on the court playing full out in life, right?

Take this weekend to look at your plan for this year again and see where you are, adjust if necessary. If you didn’t create one, then do it! It doesn’t have to be some overly detailed fancy business plan. Just write down the things you want to do and accomplish this year. We all know less than 5% of the population ever takes the time to write down or decide what they want in life. Sadly, most just float through from one day to the next without any true goals, intentions, or focus just taking life as it comes and in many cases complaining about what they don’t have.

Make your plan for the rest of the year exciting, passionate, doable and simple. Play full out when you write it and just pretend for a moment that there are no obstacles, no reasons why you can’t be, do, and have everything you want in life. If you are able to get out of your own way and the possibilities are endless.

Check your ego. Where is your mindset? Do you think you already have it? Do you think you know everything? Do you think you’re already as successful as you want to be? Believe me there’s always something more.

I’ve been training for a marathon and ran ten miles yesterday. It was hard, it was exhilarating, and I went through lots of phases both physically and emotionally while training. I’ve trained for 2 marathons before and got to as much as the 20 mile training run and I wasn’t able to make it to the starting line either time due to injury. It was frustrating after all those hours and hours and months of training to get 2 weeks before the marathon and get injured. I didn’t give up thought and I’m trying again.

I will see the start and finish line at some point! I was proud when I was done yesterday, but someone else ran more yesterday. Someone else is training for a 100 mile run and not just 26.2. I have no ego because I believe as long as we’re breathing, there’s always going to be something to learn and ways to continue to grow. If not then we might as well get in the casket and wait. That’s a quote from one of my old coaches and I love it. It’s so true.

You have the ability in this business to make any amount of money you want, to create your own schedule and to design your life and business. I recommend designing your business around your life and family and not the other way around.

Finally the housing market has picked up again and now is a great time to take your business to the next level or to get it off the ground if you’re new. It just takes a passion, an intention, a plan, and YOU!
